For what it is… Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is a classic. Another 8-bit masterpiece.

Written and directed by Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is the second game in the "Metal Gear Solid" franchise and the direct precursor to Metal Gear Solid on the PlayStation 1. It was initially released only in Japan for the MSK2 on July 19, 1990

The story continues after the first Metal Gear. By 1999, the Cold War had thawed, and nuclear disarmament by the major world powers promised a bright beginning to the 21st century.
Solid Snake is brought out of retirement by FOXHOUND's new commander, Roy Campbell, and is sent to Zanzibar land to rescue Dr. Marv, who was kidnapped by soldiers from Zanzibar land. Throughout the story, Snake is reunited with Dr. Drago Pettrovich Madnar, the Metal Gear inventor from Outer Haven, who claims to have been once again kidnapped and forced to work on another Metal Gear project named "Metal Gear D" for Zanzibar land, as well as oversee mass-production of smaller, non-nuclear-equipped Metal Gear units. Snake learns from Dr. Madnar that his former FOXHOUND commander, Big Boss, has apparently survived the Outer Haven incident, and is now the man in charge in Zanzibar land.
Snake is attacked by missile fired from Metal Gear D, which is revealed to be piloted by none other than Snake's former mercenary friend, Grey Fox. Snake manages to successfully destroying Metal Gear D, but finds himself in a minefield. Snake and Grey Fox both engage in hand-to-hand combat, in which Snake eventually emerges as victorious. Snake is met by Big Boss while trying to escape, and defeats Big Boss.

Although Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are fairly similer, there both classics nonetheless.

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is (once again) a fun game for its time that continues player on hiding from there enemies instead of blowing everything up, which (again) paid the way to the stealth genre.
