A great puzzler with enough challenge to keep you playing!

User Rating: 8.2 | Mercury Meltdown PSP
Mercury Meltdown is the sequel to Mercury for the PSP. I've played that game too and the first thing I noticed was the change in graphical style. It looked much more cartoonish, which sometimes led to me looking for my mercury if it was colored because it looked to much like the backgrounds. The goal is to lead your mercury to the finish in a level by flipping a level. To do so you must get to switches which are sometimes color specific. To make a color you must sometimes split your mercury, both make it a different color and then mix it again. This can be a challenge sometimes. New is the option to make your mercury hot or cold which you must do at times to cross a rail or something. There are 8 labs with 17 levels each. This is enough to keep you busy for a long time in MM because the difficulty builds up pretty nice until a point where the levels get really hard. Knowing what to do in a level is relatively simple compared to actually doing it. The controls work, but are sometimes a little bit too sensitive for the PSP system.

The sound in the game is decent, the music doesn't work on your nerves, but isn't that good too. The minigames you get after you've got enough stars in a level are total rubbish and after you played them once you'll never play them again. Overall it's a addictive puzzler with a great idea and style.
