Had so much potential...

User Rating: 4 | Mega Man X8 PS2
I'm huge Mega Man fan, but when it comes to msot recent consoles, the series has taken a steadly decline. The PS1 games are nice, but feel date, and lets not even talk about X7. While X8 returns to the original formula, it is so unbeliveably disapointing than its really sad.

GRAPHICS:
The graphics are kinda nice and are kinda polished, but the backgrounds lack.3.5/5

SOUND:
The music is unexcusable. The Mega Man X games always had good music, but here it is not very good and really unforgivable. The sound effects are lousy too.1/5

GAMEPLAY:
The game is a 2.5D plataformer-action game. It follow the steps from the SNES/PS1 game, which is nice, but it isn't a good thing when the gameplay sucks. The first problem is the bosses, which are unexcusably lame, and their powers too are stupid. Second, the games in the series had always good chalenge, and it was fair in the other game, but here, the chalenge is basicly trial and narrow. For last, i beat the game in 3 hours, which is ridiculous for a MM game. The only enjoyable part is the stages, which can be quite nice, and really have so good chalenge parts.0.5/5

OVERALL:
If there is a game labeled "only for the fans", this is it. Unless you are a die hard Mega Man game, stay over from this game.
