Mega Man X4

I love Zero. He's a bad-ass.

This game should not have been called Mega Man X. Just Zero. he's really what makes this game good. When you play as Mega Man, though, you see all the flaws that the first few Mega Man X games lack.

It's just too easy and formulaic. Capcom didn't put too much heart into this game as they did with the last few. Mega Man's campaign is just too basic and lacks innovation. The story is also lacking and the animated sequences look cool, but really don't clear things up.

If you just forget about X for a second and remember Zero. He's an interesting change for the series. He adds a certain variety to the game play. I like how they made his power ups different in such a cool way. Instead of merely switching over the of sword he has, which would have been predictable and still cool either way. You use button combinations to perform different moves and this is just too cool.

The graphics are still about the same as the SNES games, but with a little bit more detail. The controls are still as responsive as on the SNES. The only problem is the lack in innovation of bad guys (mainly bosses) and level design.

This game is still pretty cool, but somehow has lost the flare it originally had.
