Great play but it takes a lot of skill

User Rating: 8.9 | RockMan X SNES
With no save places and only a check point at the 1/2 way pont of the level and the boss, this game posesses a lot of difficulty. The bosses are extremely challenging, not to mention there is close to 12 of them (its quite a few). I went back and played this game recently and I found myself doing no better than when I was 8 before I got frustrated and put in "A Link to the Past." Other than that and more importantly, the game has great gameplay and great sound.

Gameplay: Simple yet brilliant. You cant do much but shoot and jump but it is kind of similar to the Mario gameplay where you have to make your jumps perfect and think quick to get by, which makes it loads of fun.

Graphics: Very very nice. You would not think this is a SNES game because the graphics are captivating. There is a foreground and a background which is not immediately noticed but it has a nice effect of the realism factor. Also, the game has many different settings for the different levels which makes it interesting where you are going to end up (city, snowy, underground...).

Sound: Catchy tune. Sort of like Marios tune like how it is simple yet appropriate (this game is starting to be a lot like Mario). Thats really it so it falls short of the high score.

Value: Many like it. No particular game has the same futuristic 2-D fighter but other games have the same goals and gameplay (suprise, Mario.

Reviewer's Tilt: Regarless of sound and Value, people love it. When games have good gameplay like this one, they get high ratings like they deserve.
