This is a vast improvement over the original,and one of the best platformers ever, though I think it is overrated.

When the original Mega Man was released, and it was a hit, Capcom eventually had Inafune make Mega Man 2. Nintendo Power, I think it was held a contest so that fans could design the robots in the game. Which on the whole was a good idea.

Gameplay
The games gameplay was VERY similar to the originals, which the exceptions that there were 8 robot masters, E-tanks, and most importantly, PASSWORDS.
The games unfair enemy amount went down drastically, and the addition of the password feature made the game much more playable. The robot masters were much improved on this game and the level design was great. The difficulty really isn't a HUGE factor in this game though because of the save feature.

This game probably has the best music in the series, extremely catchy, extremely memorable.
The sound in the game is similar to the firsts, but for some reason it seems less annoying.

Improved over the original, but to be fair, who plays Mega Man games for story.

Final word

This is game is GREAT, maybe to be fair THE BEST,
but in all due sincerity, it 's a bit overrated. Which in my personally opinion really overshadows the entire series, and generally makes the rest seem like a bunch of pointless sequels and wannabes(though some to tell the truth, are).

If you haven't played it, play it.
Though also play the rest of the games in the franchise too...
