I only got the game because it had multiplayer and that wasn't even any good.

The single-player starts off with you being dropped out of a plane into combat, you're part of the 82nd Airborne Division and must fight through famous battles, and the storyline is in fact the best bit of the whole game. The parachuting can get repetitive within the first few missions as it's either your plane gets shot down in some missions or you normally parachute. The missions are average and won't surpass the standards of most games as it's you get blown up for landing too close to the enemy, shoot tonnes of soldiers, get shot at by MG42 nests, blow up tanks, blow up things that vary a little and parachute or fall out of the sky. The game play as mentioned is the same old stuff except for the second last mission which makes it impossible to be finished by having hardly any checkpoints and tonnes of people shooting at you. This is however not true as I'm trying to beat the last checkpoint of the last mission.

This is alright if you're the person that likes mindless fun, which is if the grainy, dated graphics, lack of health bar and the fact that it is like a bad rehashed version of Call of Duty with the 82nd Airborne Division as the main host; doesn't scare you away from buying it. However it does create a great atmosphere when jumping out of a plane during Market Garden and seeing the countryside of Holland as planes are flying by and parachuters' are falling to the ground.

The minor special effects are great like red brick dust floating into the air when you hit a building, the dynamic covering system is carefully blended in and always makes sense with the surroundings even though some objects are repeated heavily and other small things like breakable windows walls and balconies suffer damage from tanks but there are obvious cracks in the wall. The melee is truly satisfying they sound great, the MP40 has a better sound than the COD one and there is a dramatic soundtrack in their as well. There are more small things like hats flying, allies dying (usually for no reason), great props and authentic uniforms & faces. The AI however suffer from many major glitches falling through objects, disappearing through walls, suddenly move to another spot, slow reaction timing and there is atrocious pop-in when you pause the game or start from a checkpoint.

There are weapon upgrades that are few and far between that are basically a different clip for the Thompson and a scope for the M1 Garand. The weapon choices aren't great and mirror the standard WWII weapons (M1 Garand, Thompson, MP40, BAR and others).

The multiplayer maps are tiny with a limited amount of weapons to find and space to fight it out in. The game modes are highly varied with modes such as Scavenger Hunt, Death-match and King of The Hill. There are different skins to choose from which makes the multiplayer for the most part similar to Medal of Honour Rising Suns multiplayer.

Though this has been edited it is still only worth renting out or borrowing from a friend and remember not to buy it as there are few hours of fun in this game. The storyline is great and the new parachuting mode (With little control in where you end up) but the rest of the game is outdone by the fact that there a tonne of WWII games with a fair few that have better game play. The mark has been moved to a higher level.
