As the first Taiko no Tatsujin DS, this game is very addictive. Gameplay is very funny. Graphic is colorful and cute. The drum sound and the Taiko's costume can be fancily changed.
The improvement of the "7 Rainbow islands" series is the adventure throughout 7 island to help friends and fight with the rival along with costume change to so-called transport pass the cliff, railway, sea. The boss fight is good ,you have to focus on the rhythm while the rival try to interfere you with various method. The Daily Do-jo mode is still remain to test the level of your mastery.
Normal gameplay provides player to finish each song with various difficult levels; easy and normal is just right to play, while hard is a bit difficult and need practicing to win the game. The game mode settings like speed play(3 various speeds), ninja mode(only label shown without note sign shown), reverse mode are challenging. Auto mode is also available to see out the note of the song.
The game have various songs to play with many genres likes J-Pop, Anime, Game ost, Classic, Children song and Namco original. The familiar famous songs are Chala-Head-Chala (DBZ ost), Entertainer (Classic) and much more.
The only problem is the stylus play is limited to the area of the screen as the first Taiko game, playing with buttons is sometimes better option.
