Max Payne 3 is a wonderful comeback of the series long-forgotten,but it still somehow fails to win against its prequel.
Max Payne 3 gives u a big reason to shoot anyone,,cause evry1 in Sao Paulo or New Jersey or Panama,is mad at you,and wants u dead piece of filth,,but despite the irresistible desire of max to die,he somehow survives everything and keeps on shooting.
It has been a tremendous comeback of a serious that we all thought died with Mona Sax,,but Max comes back,n although it's a different kind of Max(drunk,fat,pathetic,addicted,n towards the middle-bald),u can't hate him,cause of his wonderfully written n well presented tail.
Max Payne 3 certainly doesn't turn you as 2 did with a superb love-story of a cop n a criminal,,but it surely has it's moment,where u wld feel that's it better than 2(although it's not)!!!!!!
Story-A huge strength of the game,,initially u feel bored,n want to choke Max,rather than listening it.Ofcourse,who likes to see their hero becoming a drinking pig,a pathetic addict,n guarding some crappy family in Sao Paulo,,,but as the story goes on,one becomes involved in it,,the pride of saving someone's life,the fun of killing someone bad(although there's lots of those someone),,n the tension of rescuing hostages,is all gr8,,but the best part is the various climaxes which R* puts in,,,from a saving angel,Max becomes a failure,a killer,,gets back-stabbed multiple number of times,,,n the best leaves his shi**y habbit of drinking his liver out,,,it's all awesome,,the story draws u in,,n keeps u there till the end!!!!!!!!!!
Combat-Much similar to previous games,Max can slow time,dodge bullets,,n aim with that pathetic small dot on the screen.He needs painkillers to heal himself(which r required a lot of times in higher difficulty disabling auto-aim).
The new things are the 1)death battles-b4 Max takes one last shot n if he has atleast 1 painkiller,,the time slows down,and u can kill the enemy that has inflicted the last damage.If u shoot him(only once),he gets killed n u survive,although in a compromising position(u r lying down out of ur cover)n thus can loose a lot of health(so it's better to use a PK instead of waiting this)
2)Unlike the previous games,Max can carry only 3 different weapons-2 handguns n a rifle/shotgun,though it hardly makes a difference as u have a lot of ammo around
3)A lot of enemies-funny thing about this game,u must kill atleast a 50-100 men in each level(except the first 2) b4 u actually beat that level!!!!
4)Lack of boss fights-There weren't many in the previous games,,but Max Payne 3 has almost none,inspite of having a lot of bosses(atleast 5).There r some mini boss-battles that r tough,but the bosses r stupid n pretty easy to kill(1 even got killed in a cut-scene)!!!!
5)U have golden guns,but first u have to find all their parts,so u can have that in a new game,,,these do more damage,have more ammo capacity,faster re-loading speed!!!!
Environment-U have a lot of places to roam:Sao Paulo,New Jersey,Panama,,n in them Max ventured almost through every location:A suite,A nightclub,A bar,A strip club,A cruise,A low-life street,An airport,A police-station,A cemetery,n many others.Description is good n beautiful,,but environment is a lot restricted.
Characters-Max is kick-ass,he likes to kill(towards the end),he has changed a lot,resembling a man who's sick n weary of living.
Passos-Max's brother-in-arms,,he's actually the sick one here,,he won't kill any enemy when he's along u,just orders max,n has a really hot girl(Giovanna,,who's equally frustrating),who again is rescued by Max on many occasions.
Rodrigo Branco-Max's boss,a rich man,with a broad n younger wife,,,he's as coward as he's wealthy!!
Fabiana Branco-Rodrigo's wife,who Max has to save!!
Marcelo-My fav character,Rodrigo's youngest bro n a man full of life n shit!!!
Victor Branco-Middle Branco,a politician n a family devotee :D
Becker-A cop with a difference!!!!!!
Wilson Da Silva-An honest n genuine cop!!!!

Characters r designed beautifully,n that's what u expect from R*!!!!!!
Overall-The game is a gem,,u will feel a bit down in the beginning,but as u move on,it sucks you in,although a few battles with enormous enemies will frustrate you,but in the end u will be glad u played it!!!!!!!
