It's no MOO2, but it's a great game. Much more refined since the gamespot review was release. If you're playing on Steam, read one of the starter 'guides' to quickly get you going. Unfortunately the tutorial in this game is very lacking.
There are superb mods available via Steam's workshop as well, a big 5x one. The guides usually point you to the great mods.
