'Mass Effect' is, simply, one of the best games of this generation.

When I first stated playing 'Mass Effect' again recently (I had already beaten it twice on the Xbox 360), I was reminded of the thrill and amazement of playing it for the first time years ago. Sure, it's a bit rough around the edges when compared to the two great sequels. But this original will always be my favorite of the series. It more of a RPG than the other two, which is right up my alley.

To be honest, I never thought I would play this game on my PS3. This was an Xbox 360 exclusive and was published by Microsoft. Well for once, EA buying up a company (the developer, BioWare) made the situation MUCH better. Because now more people get to experience this absolute gem of a game.

The 'Mass Effect' series is known for combining third-person shooting, role-playing, and great storytelling together. This first game in the series is more RPG heavy & this could turn off some people who are in favor of more action. Also the combat isn't as smooth here, but the storytelling and great dialogue more than make up for it.

The game was gorgeous back when it came out & it still holds up to this day. It does have some glitchy moments, but it still looks nice. Presentation-wise, the game still looks and sounds great overall.

If you are looking for a great RPG, then look no further. If you never got a chance to play this on the Xbox 360, then I highly recommend purchasing this game immediately. Even if you did play it years ago, give it another shot.
