Good but it has its issues

User Rating: 6 | Mass Effect: Andromeda PS4

I haven't reviewed a game in a long time and figured I'd wait until I finished MEA before reviewing it. I'll admit I've got a few mixed feelings about it. On one hand the story is typical Mass Effect goodness. It's in depth, draws you in, and you genuinely care about your teammates. Loyalty and side quests provide interesting backstory to your teammates and other background characters. The only downside is, unlike previous games in this series, towards the end there doesn't seem to be that big moment where you're previous choices will affect the final outcome; then again I could be wrong.

And speaking of teammates, while they are all unique and fit right in with the story, it doesn't seem to matter who you have with you during missions. Yeah you get different dialogue when you're cruising around in the Nomad but that's about it. There's a few times when you feel you should have Jaal or Drax around but that's about it. Thankfully you don't have to manage their gear, which would add to complexity of the gear system. Personally, while there seems to be hundreds of options for gear, I pretty much stuck to stuff I liked and only upgraded when better versions came out.

Graphically and from a sound perspective, the game looks and sounds great. No real complaints.

My main issue for this game, which in probably why I don't score this higher is the bugs. For a game that took 5 years to come out, many of these are unacceptable. I shouldn't more often than not, have to restart the game because it freezes when I go into the APEX terminal or I shouldn't randomly draw my weapon or get a close up view when I'm just walking around the Nexus. There are other things but those are the main three that come to mind.
