The Avengers overall is what happens when you try to make Ultimate Alliance a games on-service the wrong way. That's not to say all of it is bad. The main story campaign is solid, and leads to a pretty grand final boss fight (Ms. Marvel is the biggest highlight). The Avengers Initiative campaign is the biggest issue of this game. It's the same boss fights no matter which area you're playing in; plus the enemies are the same, just multi-colored. Props to the entertaining aspects of the two story expansions, but they haven't done enough to convince anyone outside the Avengers bubble to jump back on.
My personal biggest highlight is how much of a time killer this game is. Just jumping on once in a while to level cap the newest character and/or take on the daily challenges helps sometimes get through the day, so I'll give it that.
