Great for marvel fans, but gets pretty repetitive, pretty quickly. Fun to play all the characters and use the powers.

I am a huge marvel fan and was excited to get to play the huge inventory of characters available and to utilize all their special powers and skills. As I got into the the game I thought it was pretty fun. As I advanced through a few stages though, I noticed things seemed to stay the same. I mean pick four characters, go through a level just quick button pressing to kill enemies, with the occasional special power unleashed. It's interesting to see which characters can do what, but who you pick really doesn't matter at all until you fight the boss. Some boss matches can be a little challenging, even on regular difficulty, which is fun, but some just drag on a bit too much. Now here a good hero selection can make a difference, but fights usually consist of just constantly moving in circles avoiding boss special moves, and attacking. Some can get a little interesting and go quicker with good combinations and strategies, but I just do think things switch up enough from level to level and boss to boss.
I'm really like first person shooters, so I usually like a little more action and control/strategy in my games, which may give me a bias.
Also, being a RPG, I expected one like Fall Out, where the choices you make in dialog affect how the situation turns out and the future of the game. Not so in this game, but different characters talking to different characters do elicit different narratives.
All in all, it is a fun game, and despite my many complaints I do play it and continue to enjoy it. As you unlock or select new moves with new characters it gives you a bit of excitement and a new thrill. The game can be found pretty cheap now and I would recommend it, just don't go in expecting too much.
