Gameplay: 8/10
This like Resident evil SO MUCH.
The Differences:
-there a Kick Button (But it Mostly Useless, Just kicking the Extrudes (Spiders) but don't kill them)
-Running Is Slower.
-There is A Magnify Glass which make the game more like a detective game.
-Vac-tubes: since this game based for realism,
there are many items in the other side of the base is for another side, which you must look for them, and send them using Vac-tubes to the other character ,so he/she can proceed
Yeah The Game Is for Puzzles more than anything.
But don't make the characters wait too long, as may them been attacked by a non-dead while them waiting to receive the items
The Puzzles in this game.....No, The Whole Game is very Difficult,
and you need to think a lot for what to do next.
-Instead of MAGIC storage boxes, we have here many Storage Hatches and lockers.
but they not magically transfer you items to another box.!!! (Realism)
-and finally, The Cameras at certain areas is bad...(as sometimes may kill you!).
Vita Base is a very Big base, with many corridors,rooms,etc....
The Problems here, this whole Base is Filled with Infected People, Called Non-dead they are Zombies, but not like any other game's Zombies...
Here is truly Zombies, they are Won't die by any weapons.
you can shoot them about (6 or so) bullets to knock them for a while, though that may feel you good. but as soon you leave them and return to them they will a wake just for you, this could make you with no bullets, if you keep going there and there without knowing what to do...
Just Like RE. you collect Items,keys,tools,etc... and combine or using them in specific areas, but they are hard to know what to do with them, even the characters description aren't always useful.
Sound:6/10:
The Voices are completely are BAD,yes bad you may wish this game had no voices, it's like a Translator Program reads your text.
But the shining side, is the Atmosphere Sounds, Zombies Sounds they are all Great and Horrific.
the BGMs are really well-done and fitting exactly.
Graphics: 7.5
Can't Expect More from a 2000 Game!
but at that time, and specially for PS, there are many areas has some beautiful graphics (Like the Kremlin).
Now For The Bad:
1- Weak Weapons.
2- Limited Bullets at first.
3- Non-dead sometimes got annoying.
4- When a Non-dead catches you, it hard to shake him off.
5- Non-deads doesn't to turn to catch you, as long your very close to them, you are really in danger.
6- Limited Saves.
7- And for the big one: some Vac-Tubes places in areas filled with non-deads, which you can't stand there all the day,nor you can't stand too long.
The Good:
1- Creepy atmosphere fitting so good to a Horror Game.
2- Interesting, has many Unique features.
3- Zombies are really terrifying.
4- Using items are entertaining.
5- has many many many Great Ideas.
6- Great BGMs.
7- Great and reasonable Puzzles.
8- Perfect,Epic,Great,Interesting and horrific STORY.
(In My Opinion this is the best Horror story I've ever seen, must make a movie about it.).
9- More Realistic. (As You can find items, you may think there are no need for them, but just to add sense for Realism.
10- things never seen in any game.
Overall:
All in all, this is one of best horror games, just needs using brain a lot, may difficult but fun to play.
many people said this is bad game, but if they are have gone deep through the game, they can't say that anymore.
Note: I Recommend Using a Walkthrough, as it may be EXTREMELY handful, and make you proceed in the game.
