An amazing and ambitious stealth game that manages to compete with the biggest names within the genre.

Having completed Shank from the same developer (Klei) I must say I became a fan of their animation style. A little like a sunday morning cartoon. Saying this I was very happy when it was announced a PC version of this previously XBLA exclusive called Mark of the Ninja. I was amazed by how good it was. The stealth mechanics are really well implement through the course of a light/dark atmosphere which the player must find ways (in a non-linear style) to kill or just pass through the enemies without being spotted. To accomplish that, the player must break lights with shurikens (japanese little daggers), pass through vents, escape traps, divert guards in several ways, etc etc. The game is surprisingly varied for such a small downloadable game. The first couple of levels are really easy but sooner the guards become more agressive, scouting areas with dogs or night-vision goggles. The challenge becomes more interesting without a doubt. Graphically is amazing for an animated game. In a style similar to Shank it manages to captivate the player by how smooth the animations run. Overall a magnificent job from the people at Klei. One of the few videogames that trully makes you think you're playing a modern cartoon, very "Samurai Jackish".
If you like stealth games, Mark of the Ninja is a no brainer. Get it!
