A great start to Mario Party but can feel a little different from the other Mario installments.
The mini games are really good some may even be the best in the series, the maps, are not that great in this one they aren't terrible but they aren't that great either. The only thing I was really disappointed with on this one is that some of the mini games would not give you coins like if it was a one vs. three mini game if you won the player who was playing alone would lose fifteen coins and sometimes they would give you five each but other times they wouldn't give you any at all, which makes it kind of pointless but it can be forgiven because it is the first installment in the series, and they were still trying to get the Mario Party formula just right. The character selection isn't that great either, you only get six choices and again that's understandable because most of the Mario family had not been created at this time, so that forgivable. I think Mario party can feel a bit dull sometimes too because there isn't a whole lot of special areas to land on, and also there are no items which is another disappointment, but like I said this is understandable when it is the first installment in the series.
Overall Mario Party is still one of the better outings between most of the Mario Party Outings, but it's not the best but it still has great mini games, and is memorable and worth playing with a lot of people, you might not like to play it alone though.
