Best Mario Party Game

User Rating: 9.2 | Mario Party 6 GC
I can't believe when some people say Mario Party games are repetitive, I agree with them that all games have the same goal, to get more stars than your friends, but the point is, if something was seriously changed, the games wouldn't be so nice.

Mario Party 6 is a great game, the graphics are really nice, colorful and completely 3-D. The boards were designed so well that is impossible to see any flaw on them.

Now there will be shifts of Night and Day in every 3 turns, in all boards lots of things happen when Night becomes Day or vice-versa. So, sometimes you will need to change your path quickly before something happens.

The Orbs are still here, In Mario Party 5 they were called capsules, and you use them in order to put traps in your friends way, reach the star and even defend yourself from a Boo or a crazy Chain Chomp.

The real deal about this game are the different ways to get stars, here you won't just go running after the star, actually there are only 2 boards where you will do it, on the others you will need to use strategy and think a lot about the decisions you make.

For example, on Faire Square you can buy as many stars as you want, and during the night the price can vary from 5 coins to 40, besides the Star Space doesn't change, it is always the same. On Castaway Bay you need to get to a shore where you will enter a boat, that can DK's boat, then you get a star or Bowser's boat, then you lose a star, that depends on the other you and your friends get there. On Snowflake Lake you can steal stars by using chain chomps and on Clockwork Castle you will chase the star space during the morning and run away from Bowser in the evening.

The Mini-Games are great, Mic Mini-Games are funny, you can deceive your friends sometimes by saying something without pressing the microphone button, they will get really confused.

The CPU's AI is always a huge problem, specially when you are paired-iup with one of them, they will hit you and cause lots of trouble, it's kind of hard to win playing in their team.

Mario Party 6 doesn't have anything different except from the Mic and different boards, but it doesn't imply that the game isn't nice, it actually is one of the best Mario Parties(not sure if it is the best yet because I'm still playing MP7). MP6 shows the world why the series doesn't need a huge revolution to be a classic.
