This is a great game. There is no racing game like it.

Look, im not going to talk about all of the stuff i like about mario kart games, just the things that a great in this game. The character specific items was a great idea. They are all equal items, although some are better in some situations than others, but every item has its situation. The courses are great, maybe the best course collection in a Mario Kart game, in a dead tie with Mario Kart 64. Are you wondering why its called Double Dash. That is because there are two drivers on each kart. one drives, the other does anyone else. Trust me, it isnt boring to be the back guy, and he is just as important as the driver. He executes powerslides, throws items, and, a Mario Kart first, hits other people. By pressing L and R, he will go and hit other karts off the track, and steal there items. A room a 4 players will erupt when a back-kart hit knocks another player off the stage. Also, it the kart is going off the track, a back-guy hit will bring him back on. When gamespot said it was the same old, same old, they were way off. Look for the two-driver karts to return soon
