Mario Bros is a great arcade title for the NES, which is still holding up to this day.

User Rating: 8 | Mario Bros. (Classic Series) NES

Mario Bros is an arcade game that released in 1983 and later for the NES in 1986. The objective of this game is to get rid of all the enemies by jumping on the platform below to knock them down and kicking them off the stage. Since the Mario Bros haven't become 'Super' yet, trying to stomp on them will only make you lose a life. The same applies with touching fire, which will appear when you are taking too long in a certain phase. As you go through the phases, there are more enemies that will pop-up on screen and you can earn more coins for defeating them. There are also bonus stages which give you more points for each coin you get in the game.

Though the game can get repetitive at certain stages, this is still a fine arcade title. I do not know why GameSpot gave this classic a 4.9 but that's GameSpot for you! I recommend you picking up this title which is available on Wii Shop Channel, Nintendo E-Shop, on an emulator and as an extra game in various games such as Super Mario 3D World (Luigi Bros.), The Super Mario Advance games and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
