This is a really great port of the original arcade classic. Don't beleive the crap review!
How so you ask? Well, from someone who plunked down quarter after quarter on the 1984 original in my local arcade (and finally got past the Ultimate race... twice) I know how frantic the original gameplay could be. Hyperactive smacking, spinning, and rolling of the trackball all in an effort to run that marble over the finish line is what I remember best from the arcade. No other game has ever come close to Marble Madness for high adrenaline type play. You actually built up a sweat as you furiously spun the trackball.
Im my opinion, all ports, conversions, and clones since then have been unable to recreate this furious and frantic play. Mashing keys on a keyboard or pressing buttons on a controller just doesn't provide the same feel. Sure, the game is still good on other platforms but its simply not the same.
So, how could a Mobile version be so good? Its simple... if you forgo the mobile device buttons and use a stylus then the game rocks. Scratching at your mobile phone might not sound like fun, but, beleive me, it really is. The quick swiping of the stylus (necessary to move the marble) is the closest control I've used to the original trackball... and is actually a hell of a lot of fun.
