Another season of mediocrity from 2K Sports. This game takes every negative of baseball as a sport & enhances them.

As both an avid baseball fan and long-time gamer you'd think that I'd love most any baseball game released. You'd think that, but you'd be wrong. Ever since 2K acquired the MLB licensing rights only Cubs fans have been more let down season after season over anything mildly baseball related.

Pros:
Multiple game modes
Interesting card collecting variant
Fun fantasy draft

Cons:
Extraordinarily buggy
In-game announcers often say wrong things
AI pitchers NEVER throw balls

Among the most egregious problems are the horribly choppy post-game comments, the "game-changing moment" commentary, umpires consistently missing balls and strikes and overall frustrating programming errors that dramatically change the outcome of games.

The last baseball game that is worth playing is MVP 05 from EA Sports. If you're interested in playing a solid, well programmed (albeit entirely out-dated roster wise) baseball game then do yourself a favor and pick that one up.
