Couldn't help but be harsh on this title.

Usually I'm relatively forgiving of games and give them all a very big chance.

This game started off so well. The storyline got my attention, the battle system was decent. The art is beautiful!

However when it comes to linear games, I think this is as linear as it gets.

You cannot go 'out there' and level up as much as you'd like, because once you've beaten an enemy unless you do some progress in the story, they will not reappear on the map just yet. So beat one enemy once on your trip from A to B. That's it thats all!

Even though you can't really explore the 'world' without being told 'hey no i cannot go this way', I decided to be forgiving and continue my quest.

What really pissed me off, was at a strategic point in the game where your huge party splits in two. Both have to reach the same area by starting off at relatively different points. That way when you see the CG, you understand what each party went through.

The biggest problem lies in the fact that you must, go through the damn 'area of meeting' and through its maze (not really a maze, just a lot a bunch of 'teleporters') AGAIN. beating over the SAME monsters. You want to have variety in your battles? Choose another game. Going through this game is like repeating the same battle over and over and OVER again. I take breaks every now and then. I want to see this story through to the end, I really do, but it's a painful experience.

I hope the story is worth it..Otherwise I'll give the copy to the person I like least in the world.
