I never once played Magna Carta on the Ps2 or even looked at the version of it on the PC. But I picked this game up and decided to give it a go.

~Story~
Playing as a boy with Amnesia, Juto lives on an isolated island, slacking off from work and being scolded by his friend, Melissa. But one day, soldiers from the North attack and Juto is thrusted into a world of War and will soon realize who he really was. At first he was unable to wield a sword, he will have to pick up his sword to fight for the truth, and fight for what is right. Meeting many different characters, one of the most influential is Zephie, she is the princess of the kingdom that has been snatched away from her by the Northern forces prime minister. The boy , the princess and their various companions will face the hardships of war, lost, and the real identity of Juto.
*I Like it*

~Gameplay~
The navigation of towns is fairly straightforward with the mini-map on the top-left. Fighting is active time but it's also watered down by the the "Stamina" bars which closely resemble the ATB from final fantasy(The bar fills then attack, but in this game, the more you swings your weapon the bar fills and it will hit OVERDRIVE mode. This will do more damage as long as you chain the attacks together, but when your done, you have a serious cool down time with the meter slowly emptying.) The fighting as you can say, resembles the Xbox Original game called "Sudeki". You will take part in many big battles as you take on the North as you will fight their generals to reclaim land for the Southern forces. You will also partake in many quests that the many denizens of the country can offer you. Being delivering a letter, killing a certain amount of monsters, or collecting herbs. There is alot of things to do before the game is out. Minigames are available at certain times, being a "Whack-a-Mole" variant, or a bow game. Character development is alright in the way of sense that every weapon looks amazingly detailed and different, and a new piece of armor will also look different. Magna Carta also offers the ability to put "Kamonds" into the weapons that will produce different results, whether it's ATK+4 or HP+6%. Or even like status immunity to Paralysis or poison. Each character has a skill tree for the 2 weapon styles they can use, the skill tree has different amount of Attack Skills and passive skiills available for purchase with skill points. This will strengthen the characters substantially in the long run as they will need all the skills to liberate the world.
*The gameplay is fun, the fights are sometimes very easy and you can usually use the character's last move on the skill tree to destroy a boss*

~Visuals~
The game is very pretty, but I had an issue with the facial features of some characters. Their eyes seemed to be parted way to much (Melissa). Other than that, the Enviroments and cities are very well detailed and is full of life ( Or death if need be).
*I really enjoyed the effects of battle, as some of the attack skills have a cutscene which shows epic PWNAGE*

~Sound~
The musical score for this is so so, not up to par with Final Fantasy, but it isn't bad either.
*The ambient music is in the correct place but it isn't amazing enough to make me stop and say,"This is a really pretty musical score"*

~Summary~
Magna Carta 2 is a solid RPG which will be overlooked by some gamers being that either the name is wierd or they never heard of it before. Give this game a chance because the story and the simplistic gameplay will not only draw you in, but it will keep you there 'till you finish the last disc.
