Next-GEN has completely spoiled me.

Now I know why the arcade failed: home systems stole the show. I had the fortune and privilege to have an arcade in the family. My dad owned one in Kingwood, TX in the eighties, full of now classic coin-ops, a slot car track, and a skateboard shop. I remember when NEO-GEO hit the market: It was amazing. Multiple titles per machine, cutting edge graphics, all the stuff that made the arcade a place to spend endless hours and quarters... but, after the unprecedented success of the home console, we, as gamers, were able to bring all that glory home. No more quarters. No more closing time.

I remember Magician Lord being awesome. I remember it as a beacon of pleasure and amusement... but, after playing Super Mario Galaxy for about 10 hours, I can't even bear 10 minutes of this game. I've been ruined.

However, I don't muddle all old school coin-ops into some unbearable category. I have millions of the fondest memories of my days in the arcades. There are a ton I can still play for hours on end, but this one... may it rest in pieces.
