Neat idea that falls flat on execution

It sounded fun, draw your own creatures and let them battle it out: Depending on whether you draw arms or legs, and the shape of your drawing, your creature will have certain strengths. It was a bit fun at first to draw my mishapen creature (a green triangle with yellow arms and legs, oh and two little red horns) and send him into the battle. Graphics in the game are on an adolescent level, somewhat charming, but definitely not badass. This game definitely has much in common with Pokemon, but lacks the former games direction and fun. You pit your Pen gel creations against others in the village, and gain more colors to work with. The whole battle system is a kindof rock/scissors/paper cycle of magic, physical attacks and blocking. It should be alot of fun, but after owning the game for three years, I still hadn't really played. I could pull it out and play a battle or two, but there is nothing that pulls me in after all this time. Good concept, but ultimately, the game just wasn't fun to play.
