To my surprise, it didn't meet the expectation that it was hyped for, but it has a potential to be a future FPS

User Rating: 7.5 | MAG PS3
I've played this game for about 13 hours and i think I should write a review about the game, the game isn't all bad but doesn't revolutionize the genre in anyway kind of way.

Presentation:

Now it may be an online first-person shooter game but it does have kind of a mediocre presentation and it may get worse here with the terrible voice acting and weird accents they have. When you first start the game, you're thrown to choose 3 military armies, SVER, Raven and "I forgot its name" lol . you choose one of the three and from then you create your soldier. When you go online, you're presented by a voice to tell what your mission is based on. It's like an informant if you wanna call it that way.

Score: 5/10

Conclusion: It's online shooter, I didn't expect something an amazing presentation like MW2 or BC2 but i didn't know it would be this bad.

Graphics:

It's like a common topic when gamers talk about MAG, saying it's like PS2 game graphics. Now, before I get thumbs down, it's not that bad it's just bad graphics for an exclusive game for the PS3. The graphics aren't God of War or Killzone 2. But it's like a multiplatform-game graphics level or a little worse than that.

Score: 7/10

Conclusion:

Well.. i don't know what to write about the graphics but the disappointment in me is too big of a shock that the developers of this game aren't ashamed of themselves because they've been hyping this for a very long time.

Game Play mechanics:

If you can survive the clunky controls like zooming while the screen pops in the zoom angle, then you're better than me in this game.

Controls:

Of course, almost every shooter's controls are similar and they don't differ from one another and this is not an exception because it's just like any other shooter but it a bad way. The bad thing here about the controls are the zoom and the sound of firing bullets. They're just bad in every way i can imagine. Now the good thing is it's got an intense action heat when you battle with teammates and that sometimes makes your time enjoyable but frustrating each time you wanna aim and fire.

Main Menu:
After you've created your soldier, you will enter the deployment option to train and from that point, you're good to go for battle. you have various modes like suppression "Teamdeath match", Sabotage, and destroying enemies' tanks mode. it may sound like a cheap modes for a game that's worth 60$ but the maps are very big and they're too big for me though it's they're only 4 maps.

Soldier Customization:
After each battle, you win or lose that's normal thing but generally after any battle you play, you get experience points for leveling up and skill points for unlocking new weapons, perks and items. Also you can reset your character skill points and retake all of your points to start from the beginning. That's a good thing if you want to unlock different skills. For each army, you have three individual weapons, an assault rifle, light machine gun, and a sniper. With gaining experience points and skill points you will have shotguns, RPGs, and accessories for weapons.

Score: 8/10

Conclusion:

It's really great but the sluggish, clunky and awkward controls are too much for me. Sometimes I can pass that but other times, I just can't take it.

General PROs and CONs:

+ Heated and intense battle.
+ Team work is essential.
- clunky controls.
- Takes while to get in a game.
+ but in-game server works great.
- 4 maps aren't enough.

Score: 7.5/10

Overall Score: 7.6/10 Mediocre to Good

Gamespot: 7.5/10

Final Conclusion:

Rent it first and judge it by yourself, i still play the game from time to time and i like but I can't give it a good score because i like the game and there bad facts about it. But if you're looking for new and refreshing game other than, halo 3, call of duty and bad company. This is your game.
