How do you start to describe M.A.G. well i'm an old school gamer and as its said"There is no school like the old school." If you remember Firearms from the Half-life mod you'll feel right at home. M.A.G starts you off choosing three factions in the Shadow War. Each faction truly makes you believe you are fighting for the right cause. They start you off in the Kiddie pool of mag with your first battle of 32 players. Then you rank up and move on up to 64. Till your ready for the big pool all 256. Which I can tell you 64 players might seem like common territory its not in M.A.G. What do I mean? Well first off if your still use to Modern Warfare 2 stay there. Unlike MW2 you can't simply camp or run and gun. Its a good way to be sniper bait though. If you get 5 kills in a row there is no I can drop a magic missile on a group of guys. You get Metal music instead which is awesome btw. In any case the reason is you will be outgunned and outnumbered. Sure in 32v32 you'll last that way until you hit the next tier. Which I can assure ever second something goes boom. At first its overwhelming. Then next thing you know your finding ways to push the enemy back or be at a standstill. Then your on the edge of your seat trying to win for your company. As the timer ticks down. The game itself is just solid, the XP element of the game makes you really think of what class you want to be. You can of course mix it up. The higher you level though the harder it is to finish a tier. So you have to spend your points wisely. Next is Leadership which you get at level 15. Not every dick and Jane can be a leader which is refreshing. If you just go off doing things on your own. You won't get leadership points. If you work with your team on the other hand. You'll find yourself in command of a whole Company. That's another good thing about M.A.G not just anyone can take command of your squad. The Servers for mag are just out of this world when it comes to FPS. You will be amazed how the game never lags. Or if it does its so small you never notice. Everything about M.A.G is just perfection. Except I have two gripes. You can't cook your grenades. Which just seems silly to me not to add that function. Neither can you throw it back to your enemies. I know I'm to use to MW. Next the sniper rifle never moves its always straight. I guess I just wanted a little uneven shaking. No ones hands are that perfect holding a gun. Lastly driving a vehicle is like driving a brick. Honestly could have done without driving. Yet in a way it mixes up the game play. In conclusion M.A.G is both new and old in the FPS genre. With Bioshock 2 and Battlefield Bad company 2 just around the corner M.A.G still belongs in your collection.
