Another victory for 2k!! A semi-sandbox game with a cinematic storyline... Nice!!!
From the visuals itself, Mafia 2 literally captures your post-war imaginations. From its snow-filled streets to the beautifully rendered atmosphere, this game puts you into position where you are actually in the place itself. Nice one 2k!! Facial expressions are amazing but sometimes they tend to be a little bit simple especially when corresponding voices go along with it. Vito's sister is an example.
The actual gameplay is fun. Nonetheless it needs some improvement. Making it into a real sandbox wouldn't hurt. And it won't make it another gta clone cause mafia for me has a different punch compared to the gta series. GTA is more arcadish, more fast, and more unrealistic, considering how its main characters lavish their rewards without corresponding circumstances..
Mafia 2's story is where it rises up to surface. From Joe to Henry, from your mother to your sister, all fits so terribly good that the whole game feels like a hollywood movie.
Overall, Mafia 2 is a masterpiece of its own. It is not comparable to GTA cause it has got a taste of its own. It's one game worth buying for.
