Wow, a great American Football game that really gets you into the game!

Amazingly this is my first forage into the Madden series and right of the bat I have to say it certainly was impressive. Being a long, long Fifa series fan I was never really into the American Football games, although I do like the sport it just never had precedence over buying or getting a copy of Fifa. Having this background makes me realize this can turn into an interesting review, because I have been a 49ers fan since the Joe Montana era. Of course after Steve Young the 49ers declined and so did my interest in American football up to a couple of years ago.

So I got a copy of Madden 2005 as a "hey I don't need this game anymore do you want it", a couple of weeks later and I can Just say wow. Even if I haven't seen any other American football game since Tecmo bowl and NFL Quarterback club. The game has very solid gameplay and the controls scheme really makes you feel like… you are in control. The graphics are very smooth even in the PS2 and the league looks far more developed than what its Fifa same year counterpart had to offer. Even the graphics are much better.

I don't even need to go into the music because as always EA throws into most of its games spectacular sound tracks. Of course as in any game it has its AI problems and its commentators mix up but even so, comparing it to the fifa series (of the same year) I can honestly say it's very little. All I can say is the Madden NFL 2005 is a superb game that I can easily recommend to anybody, I just hope that the series has managed to keep it up with the rest of the games leading up to Madden 2008.
