Quite simply the greatest game ever made.
The battle system is somewhat basic at first, but a lot more advanced elements come in to play later on. It's a turn-based system, but a lot more depth is added by item powers, magic spells, and capsule monsters.
The art style is awesome. It looks a lot like many of the other SNES masterpiece RPGs, but it sets itself apart with the massive and awesome bosses. Idura, Gades, and all of the rest are just plain cool.
The music is very memorable. As I write this the battle theme is playing in my head. The music adds to the atmosphere of the game in a way I have never before seen or heard.
This game is very hard to find. If you happen to run across it, buy it immediately. This game goes for a large sum on eBay, but if you are looking for an RPG experience on the SNES rivaled only by Chrono Trigger, then it is well worth it.
Some of the puzzles in this game are brutal. You must have patience to play Lufia. The challenge of this game is what I find most appealing. You will have to level up your characters, buy new equipment, and evolve your monsters just to advance to the next town if you have never played this game before. Some of the puzzles may take hours if you do not look up the answers on the internet.
