Improves on the original in everyway. A good RPG, it serves up good pure no frills gameplay. Story light.

Lost kingdoms II is the game the original lost kingdoms should have been, everything about the first game has been improved upon in this game. Although you'll miss some of the uniqueness of theart lost from the first lost kingdoms game. Since this game packs a different heroine, a distant descendant of the first games hero. If you've played the original lost kingdoms then you've played this game essentially, you still have the same card battle system that was in the original game. Lost kingdoms II serves up more of the same with some refinements. The card battle system is simply this: You have a deck of cards from which you choose to play in battle and these cards either function as 'weapons' or they turn into AI controlled monsters that will attack your enemy until they run out of "hit points", or are released. The game is light on the story and really focuses on the card battles, with some beautiful locales for the in game battles. This is a game for purists who want to play a game for the game and not as a second rate b-movie (Final fantasy series I'm looking at you). It's an enjoyable game with some truly awesome looking card-based monsters and animations. The warrior knight cards are back and especially cool in this game. But this game serves the niche hardocre Japanese RPG audience that wants a no frills game experience that focuses on combat and is really light on the story. It's worth a play through though if you're a hardcore RPG fan.
