Excellent! Really loving the A-10!

I actually bought this game several years ago and it has been sitting in my desk drawer due to the fact that I had a low end computer. I recently purchased an Alienware Aurora ALX and this is one of the first things I installed. Crysis came next...but that's a different review. I was worried after reading all the reviews saying that LOMAC was really buggy even for higher end computers, but all my worries have subsided. It has been really smooth so far with frame rates ranging from 80 to 300 fps. I have all the settings maxed out except for water and it is on high instead of very high. It is beautiful for a flight sim. Very realistic looking landscapes and water. From the heat blur to the tiny scratches in the cockpit glass, It seems a lot of thought went into the details. I am currently running the original un-patched version and blowing the crap out of tanks with my tank-busting A-10. The only glitch I have experienced so far is in the F-15c the sound occasionally cuts out for a brief moment. I will warn you though, you really have to have a soft spot for the technical and tedious. I have only just begun to really learn in this particular sim. I will probably spend many many hours with it. Sturmovik was a piece of cake in comparison. I do also wish the planes had an interactive click-able cockpit...but i can learn with my keyboard just the same. If i experience anymore bugs or defects I'll be sure and update my review.
