Not a platformer fan... but this game was just amazing...

User Rating: 8.5 | LIMBO PC
First of all, I want to say that this game is by far one of the best platformers out there, secondly I can't believe that gamespot gave 9.5 to Super Meat boy and only 9 to Limbo.

The feeling you have in Limbo is so profound - its something that doesn't exist in the majority of games that are made. You will feel sorrow, fear, curiosity --

Graphics - excellent graphics for a platformer, though black and white the lightning effects are quite amazing - not to mention innovative (not to mention that the ways the player can die are quite gruesome, generating shivers down your spine)

Sound - depends on each one's preference, from my point of view the sound was ok, but it could have been better. The music is made in such a way that you will never know it's there - fortifying the game's atmosphere, but the music on its own will will not bring memories of playing the game.

Story - though this game's story is pretty ambiguous, it kind of relates to the name of the game ... like a lost soul searching for something... but will never reveal why you are there and what is your goal. At the end of the game, each one of you will put up the pieces generating a meaning to everything that you have seen in the game

Gameplay - combining precise controls, intelligent puzzles [ it kind of resembles the havok engine in half life 2 lol ] , and a feeling that no other platformer has. Its one of the best gameplay experiences you can have.

The good: Gameplay, feeling, graphics
The bad: much too short... in about 2-3 hours it was finished.. though the time passed so quickly I can't really be sure :)

Bottom line: Even if you don't like platformers, and usually play first person shooters (like me) ... this game should definitely be played... not exactly a masterpiece, but not far from it...
