Revival of maddening Lemmings! They are here again to conquer your minds
That was the second expansion's name to the original Lemmings game. When Lemmings were released in 1991 on Amiga --its ported to almost every machine later--, we all read about it on almost all magazines and then got the game for ourselves. Later, people started to get crazy because to save lemmings wasnt easy thing. It was so much fun at its time, now after 15 years Lemmings came to conquer our minds again.
The game is really improved on PSP version. 3D graphics are really nice and the backgrounds are well designed, they are even shown close shot before the level starts, thus visuals make you enjoy while playing. And the game is loyal to the original so the gameplay is still 2D. Also the sound and music quality is great too. Playing the game in great visuals with nice musics is complete with Lemmings' voices "Yippee" when they reach to the exit. This game surely brings back good memories.
The gameplay of new Lemmings is really easy on PSP. Its converted to a handheld console really well. The first game was played by mouse, and since PSP has no mouse they used menu circling system for choosing skills with shoulder buttons and D-pad to move cursor. The analog pad is to look around in the level. Triangle button for zooming in, which I prefer to see those cute Lemmings closer, and Square button for zooming out. When you are done with skill assignments you can speed up time to reach the exit faster. PSP controls are really well done for the game and when you get used to it, you wont have a problem.
The original game's 120 levels are still the same but with new colorful design they look better. Also 36 new levels and a level editor is presented. You can make your own levels and better, you can upload them to share them with the world. The same goes for downloading too, you can download new levels and the game's playing hours never ends.
The game's difficulty is the same as ever. It starts with easy teaching levels and then it gets more difficult with each level. In menu, Special means new designed levels which have new 36 levels and the original means the first game's 120 levels and they are in the same categories again; "Fun","Tricky","Taxing" and the real maddening thing "Mayhem". You can play them in order or you can play any level when you want since there is no unlocking a level anymore.
Lemmings is really good revival of a true classic. Also the game's level editor and online sharing makes the game endless. For people who dont know Lemmings, this is a great opportunity to meet them.
