The death knell for the Leisure Suit Larry series.

User Rating: 2 | Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust X360
By far, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust is the death knell for the series that was so beloved in the days of pixels and 4-colored computer monitors. This game is full of bugs, luke-warm perverted jokes, visual and game play glitches. The problems are so numerous that the game itself is almost unplayable.

First off, the slightly-raunchy and gratuitous boob references of the previous series are off the mark in this title. In other incarnations this style of humour was enough to elicit the odd chuckle, but attempts at humour in BOB invoke only cringe worthy reactions. It is so over the top at times that I was forced to turn off the Xbox from pure disgust.

The graphics are beyond dated. The cartoony effects that try to be sexy, or funny, or slap-stick are ugly to look at. the frame rate is awful as well, with numerous and obvious problems becoming readily apparently as you navigate sandbox-style around the movie lot. It seems that in the bare bones the game tries to sell itself on many similar-looking big boobed "toons" walking around like lifeless sticks.

Lastly, the gameplay itself is reprehensible. Many of the missions are "Fed-Ex" in nature that consist of "go here, do that, come back here", all while using clunky, awful controls with buggy camera angles.

Overall, LSL:BOB has one redeeming feature: it acts as a nice table coaster for your beer, or a frisbee for pick up living-room ultimate. Stay away. Stay, far, far, away/
