An MMO with out the MM... Should be reclassed to 'SOROG' - 'Small Online Rip Off Game'.

User Rating: 1.5 | LEGO Universe PC
This has got to be one of the most disappointing MMO's I have ever had the misfortune to play.

Lets start with the lack of content available at launch. Lego have plopped out possibly the smallest lego game I've ever played, I am a big fan of the console games and was expecting a massive game, especially when they used 'Universe' in the title.

When you play however you find out that there are only 5 zones, one of those is the starting area which takes about 5 mins to get through first time. The other area's a casual player (1-2 hours every day/other day) can be completed in a week, a serious gamer (4 hours + per day) can have this completed in about 3 days. There is also a bonus so-called level, which is as big as the starting area and bugged so you can't complete the achievements.

The next gripe is the single instance/dungeon which has 3 bosses each of which takes about 3 min's to kill. Once you have your level 3 equipment this can be solo'd (Samurai Class) easily.

Next up is the complete lack of being able to party with other people, the only time you get to 'party up' is on the single instance and thats only if you can be bothered, or when you do the racing challenges.

And some of the achievements, which might be better if you could party up with other people in the same area, are ludicrous Kill 5,000 or this and smash 10,000 of something else... *yawn* if i wanted a serious grinding game i would play Aion/WoW/etc.

Also the game uses the 'last hit' rule for killing world spawned enemies, for those not aware this means that someone can & generally will be able to kill steal from anyone & get the loot. This coupled with the above inability to party up adds to the overall frustration level of the game.

The chat system which is heavily locked with words & grammar being checked, its so frustrating thats its best not to bother unless you absolutely must say something in game.

Last but by no means least, lego expect for a single months subscription for you to pay £7.49 with the promise that they will 'try' to include new content every month. Since the beta test, there have been no new areas released. Other Subscription options are 6 months @ 39.99 (£6.67p/m) and 12 months @ £69.99 (£5.83 p/m).

Personally i think that the pricing of the game is far too expensive for the content available. I think they should make the game £3.50 p/m, £18 for 6 months (£3 p/m) and £30 for the year (£2.50 p/m).
