LEGO Jurrasic World

User Rating: 7 | LEGO Jurassic World PS3
As a huge fan of the films, I had to play LEGO Jurrasic World. I've only played one other LEGO game than this so I'm reviewing this game as a whole and not focusing on the LEGO part and not comparing it to other LEGO titles. There's a lot of fun to be had here - if you're a fan of the original films, you'll love this game as you're able to play Jurrasic Park, The Lost World & Jurrasic Park III, as well of Jurradic World. The game does a really great job of using sound to create atmosphere; the dinosaur sounds are exactly the same as from the films and even some of the characters' dialogue is taken straight from the films, which really brought the game to life. Throughout the game you're able to play as various characters from all four films including some dinosaurs which is good fun. In terms of graphics, the game is pretty with some nice level designs. However, gameplay itself is somewhat frustrating at times. Several glitches make playing this game an irritating experience at times and gameplay becomes very repetitive (smashing Lego plants to collect coins - jumping into piles of dinosaur poo to retrieve Lego blocks to use for construction etc). It's also frustrating how each different character has different abilities and while some of these make sense, such as dino scientists being able to do things ordinary people cannot, and characters with weapons shooting targets, this becomes annoying as you have to constantly change characters to complete the simplest objective, and in story mode much of the game is unplayable as you do not have the right characters. These issues aside, it was good fun exploring the worlds of Jurrasic Park in this game. My favourite part of the game was in Jurassic World being able to explore the park itself, albeit relatively small. Having now completed the story mode, I am disappointed that I cannot easily select a level to replay in freeplay. It seems you have to play the whole thing again to unlock every level in free play. All in all, good fun, but could've been better.
