My first Lego Game

So I have been hearing about these games, and for a short while I had owned but never played Star Wars the original adventure. The gameplay on that just did not catch my fancy right away, so when it came rent time, and I needed some extra cash ... onto ebay it went.
However, I sucked it up, and decided to give the Lego franchise one more shot, after I found the Indy Jones/Kung Fu Panda combo for less than 10 dollars. Playing Kung Fu first because I wasn't as thrilled for the Lego.
I am happy to report however, that when I put the game on, I was instantly hooked. Being able to control Foorestal as well as Indy was fun, but the thing that stood out to me, was the campy way the game approached a very familiar story.
Granted there were some expansions I did not care for. We can easily see why Speilberg did not show us how Indy and Marion made it out of the mountains after her bar burned down.
Leaping around the different movie settings were fun. I had a blast using Indys skills, or the skills of his companions ( each character has a different skill set , such as Jake the airplane pilot is a mechanic, or Sala is a digger )
What I found boring was the combat. You are destroyed, only to immediately respawn with the opprotunity to collect all the coins you have lost. That in more ways than one kills any drama from the combat.
However, it is exploration for the different items and treasures, as well as the sense of humor that make this game a no brainer. I can strongly recommend this, and I do.
