Bug infested; way too short and easy. Alright while it lasted, yet not as satisfying as previous Lego Games. PASS!!!

Not worth the money in my opinion.

Unless you are a die-hard fan of the LEGO Video Game franchise, I would pass on this poorly produced and thought out game.

I bought this thinking I would be diving into "The magical world of witch-craft and wizardry," but that fantasy was soon torn to shreds. I found myself already bored with the game by the end of the 1st Story, and the only thing that compelled me to complete the game 100% was the trophies for my PSN account.

Although the graphics were greatly improved, and the new split screen co-op prevented any fighting from ensuing between me and my brother, the glitches and lack of combat became way too repetitive for me to further enjoy the game. The dungeon glitch almost ruined my game when I was over 95% complete (look it up, it's BAD). If you want to earn a trophy, you better complete it with player one, because if player two completes a trophy challenge, don't expect a trophy to pop-up on the side of your screen (all trophies must be earned from player one). Finally, the annoying spell targeting almost ruined what little combat there was in this game (don't get me wrong, when I bought this game, I knew it was no Tekken, Streetfighter, or Smash Bros., but I still wanted some combat). Believe me, stud collecting gets pretty boring after the thrill of a new video game wears off (after the second level). Unfortunately, there are more negatives then positives when it comes to LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4.

I think the only things that were really good about this game were the cut scenes. They're smooth, bug free, and very funny.

I did get the platinum trophy and I have to say it's very easy. It will take an annoyingly long amount of time, more then you would otherwise spend on any LEGO Video Game, but it's worth it in the long run. If I got this game for the Wii, I would have only played, and completed, this game for about 7 hours and walked away taking the same experience with me as if I had played the game for 25 hours. That's right, it's dull and repetitive.

I was really disappointed by this game and it may be that I am getting older, I am now 15 (was 9 when the first LEGO game came out), and the formula is getting repetitive and tiresome. I really hope they make some serious changes for the next game, otherwise don't expect to see me in line to buy LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 when it zaps in stores either next year or 2012!!!
