A great way to experience the Batman World, and share it with your friends.

Lego Batman has a lot of fun moments. The colorful cast of characters from the bat-world provide a great amount of fun, laughs, and detail. When it comes to gameplay, it's very easy to have tons of fun. The depth of the levels vary. Some levels allow you to explore and wander, some are pretty straight forward. Your AI partner is terrible. They will often leave you to fight groups of enemies alone, contributing very little. This is where the great multiplayer comes in. It's as simple as pressing the start button and you and a friend can enjoy the game together. The multiplayer really makes you feel as though your a team trying to achieve a goal together and the outcome is great. The screen is the only issue with multiplayer. If your partner wanders off far enough you may be dropped to your death. It can be frustrating, but it is a small issue that can be worked on between the two players, maybe even adding to the team work experience.

The puzzle solving in the game delivers far beyond expectation. The levels can be hard, making you have to re trace your steps, and if your playing with another person, it forces you to really communicate to figure out what to do, and it feels very rewarding once you solve the puzzle. The level designs are beyond decent, but some are too small and may leave you wishing there was more to do, like maybe secret places to explore with new characters during freeplay (letting you replay missions with all your unlocked equipment and some unlocked characters). A lot of the levels have a similar look to each other, sometimes making it feel repetitive, but the multiplayer gives this title plenty of re play value, especially if your a batman fan. Long time fans of the character will notice little details mixed into lego batman from other media (the batwing from "Batman" on 1989, The 1970's Batgirl costume, the Batman: The Animated Series design of clayface, Bane breaking the backs of enemies) and it is very satisfying to experience and just makes the game better.

Overall, Lego batman is an enjoyable experience for you and a buddy, and has a "cute factor" where your wife or girlfriend may want to play to. With interesting levels, various fun characters, and the problem solving process involved in progressing in the story, Lego Batman is definitely a title you should go pick up.
