Wrestling fans will no doubt find joy battling as old school wrestlers; unfortunately nothing is that smooth.

If you're reading this review chances are you are or were at some point a fan of professional wrestling. So therefore you should know the names of Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, and so forth. Well rest assured that those wrestlers, as well as many more from the past, all appear in Legends of Wrestling 2, its just that it doesn't play as fun as you would expect it to.

The pro wrestling fan in you will enjoy going through the roster of 60+ wrestlers and remembering old faces and their old matches that thrilled you. Each superstar has 4 different attires to wear down to the ring. While a few are just a simple color change for their trunks, some like Scott Steiner and Hulk Hogan have completely different looks for each attire. Scott will range from having a bad brown mullet to his more modern day appearance of short bleach blonde hair and a goatee. While Hogan goes from his early 80s look, to his Hollywood Hogan persona he had during his tenure in WCW. Despite the fact that the character models do a good job of looking like the wrestlers they're representing, they are way off from looking realistic. Characters have muscles and hands that are way too big, giving off a more cartoony effect than a realistic one. It works on the level its presented, but nobody should come into his game looking for realistic looking models because they'll only be disappointed.

Actually playing the game can sometimes feel like a chore to do. Occasionally there feels like a delay between when you pressed the button and when the action happens. In the beginning of matches reversing moves is easy to do with a simple button press at the right time, but as you receive more damage reversing can become next to impossible with an incredibly short span of time to hit the reverse button. None of the gameplay feels as smooth as the Smackdown series, which is a shame. Once you figure out your controls and how each button starts up a different hold, you'll be able to work your way through moves pretty easily. Unfortunately there isn't a whole heck of a lot of moves to perform. You will find yourself repeating the same moves a few times over as you work your way through a match.

As far at the sound goes, I hope you like the band Saliva. Their songs are played during the opening credits, as well as during gameplay. No announcers for this game, just Saliva's music. When superstars enter the ring some have a decent tune playing that resembles some of their entrance music they had throughout their career. It's a good change from Saliva, but some are still pretty generic.

Overall unless you're strictly looking for a game where you can play as a stacked roster of wrestlers straight from the past, this game is hard to recommend. It's the type of game that comes across as one made just for the fans, and because of that it doesn't seem like all the effort that could have been was put into it.
