First person shooter with mythical creatures.
Apart from your usual arsenal consisting of pistols, machine guns and rocket launchers, the game also throws in an Animus mechanic where it allows the main character to absorb essences of mythical creatures that fall for use in healing or daze creatures in combat.
Usually the game delivers an enjoyable flow of first person action, but there are some frustrating moments. For instance, there's one level in the game where you'll need to jump from platform to platform while being chased by werewolves. At first you will kill the werewolves first only to find out that they respawn a few moments later. In another level you'll need to charge a device while being attacked by small Faery like creatures that are ethereal and can only be harmed when they materialize/attack. These creatures can move the device around. They also do decent damage when they attack making that section a difficult affair.
There are a few other areas I can't remember where enemies respawn indefinitely without giving you a clear idea what you need to do or where you need to go.
Perhaps the most offensive of these issues is a game breaking bug near the end sequence where an elevator which is supposed to take you up a tower glitches and leaves you falling down the geometry. A quick workaround is to edit the configuration file.
First person shooters with mythical creatures to shoot are quite rare.
If you're curious what's it like to have gryphons in modern times, you might want to give this game a try. However, buy this game when the prices are low or better yet, try the demo first.
