Can't any new original multiplayer IP get some love?

User Rating: 8.5 | Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West PC
Lead and Gold Gangs Of The West is seriously good. Smooth animations, great shooting and even some pretty diverse characters to boot (bald gunslinger got me the most). It's modes are a little generic but are fun and encourage a LOT of teamwork. L&G however lacks a player base because too many people are too comfortable with COD or BFBC 2 to notice small games trying to make a mark or find a place in a cluttered game market. The game doesn't try anything new or revolutionary all it is a skimped down Team Fortress 2 that's heck of a lot easier to get into. Everyone is on the same ground, no loot, no rank advantages just good old teamwork.

L&G does have a few quirks, a lack of a solid progressive system (ranks, unlockables, etc) doesn't really give many a reason to play. Maybe something of a unlockable clothing items or something to make your in game avatar a little more unique could of been nice, and the arsenal isn't very large, the wild west has a plethora of weapons and instead of having this is stronger then that kind of system have a more this rifle can dish out more damage but isn't as accurate kind of thing.

Updates for Lead and Gold haven't been as periodic as TF2 or the such but the developer Fat Shark has recent realized a update with a new map. Maybe if steam promotes the game a little more Lead and Gold could finally get a little but of the spot light.

If only if only this game could get by, hopefully people will notice it when it arrives from the sky into the hands of the Xbox and PS3.
