Interesting story but the repetitiveness gets a bit old.

I've had this game for a while and recently decided that it was time to finish it again and write up a review.

Knights of the Temple: Infernal Crusade casts you in the role of Paul. A knights templar who stumbles upon some trouble happening at a local monastery. During your investigation you learn that the monks have become corrupt and that the Lord Bishop has kidnapped a beautiful girl named Adaele (it might be Adeale) who God has blessed with the power of healing. His intentions are to sacrifice her to Satan to bring Hell to Earth and rule over all.

That is the basic story behind Knights of the Temple: Infernal Crusade. The game is not full of much intrigue and is pretty straight forward in telling this story. You pursue the Lord Bishop to Jerusalem and other cities and eventually take a trip through Hell back to the monastery you started at. Along the way Adaele blesses your character with prayers that you can use to heal yourself and cause damage to your opponents.

You do gain experience for your kills and learn different moves from this experience. This promotion system is all automatic though, so you don't get to pick and choose to upgrade moves. You also get a choice of 4 different weapon types. A bow, sword, axe and mace. Which is all upgraded by finding better and stronger weapons while playing the game. The problem I had with the weapones was I really haven't seen much difference except in the reach or speed of the weapons. They newer ones were obviously more powerful, but that was it.

The gameplay was fun for the first hour or so, but towards the later chapters it was a bit to repetitive. Once you learned how to block and swing at the right time there was really no surprises in fighting the different enemies that were presented. Some were tougher than others, but once you learned the correct patterns it was a simple wash and repeat cycle.

The voice acting was ok and helped progress the story fairly well. It wasn't the best I've heard but it was far from the worst.

The graphics were ok but very plain. Streets and dungeons were pretty cookie cutter in their appearance and didn't do much for me. Strangely enough, in all the cities scenes there were no people standing around so it just felt more like running through a very long allie.

So Knights of the Temple: Infernal Crusade was a good game, but I would have liked something a bit more fleshed out in the story department and also in the gameplay. If you are interested in sword slashing and blocking then this is the game for you.
