There are better MMORPGs out there. This one isn't worth your time

User Rating: 4 | Knight Online PC
Knight Online is one of the most popular free MMORPGs out there, and I don't understand why. The entire game is one big grindfest, and there are hackers everywhere. The admin don't care at all. There are two races of characters: humans and orcs. However, it wouldn't uncommon to see a big dinosaur or a large rock with a player name on top if it roaming around town. The combat controls are slightly awkward, having to click three or four different things before you can attack another target. You fight the same monsters over and over, and just when you have gotten to the point where you can travel to another area of the game and fight harder monsters, they just turn out to have the same look, just with different names, colors, and difficulty levels.
The community is decent but still a little messy. Apart from the large number of hackers, a lot of players a genuine and will respond if you talk to them. The only problem is, a good half of them don't speak English.
The party system is also not as good as it's cracked up to be. Yes, if you find a party, you will receive a lot of bonuses to your character, but the strength of a party ultimately depends on the people you are playing with. And if the players in your party don't care about you, you're not that much better off. What's also annoying is the item distribution. When you are in a party and you go to pick up an item, it can go to anyone else in the party unless its your turn. Also, your inventory can fill up mysteriously due to other members of the party picking up things and having them go to you. If I pick up an item, usually that means I want it, and it's annoying when you have to make diplomatic negotiations everything you click on a dropped item and it goes in somebody else's inventory.
Despite that, I'll admit this game has potential. It's not unbearable, but once you try some of the other available MMORPGs out there, you'll realize that this game isn't so hot. However, the upside of this game is that the install file is relatively small, and it's easy on the computer. I have never had a technical problem before. If the admin will just care enough to clean up the game a little and maybe organize it better, I think it could turn out alright.
Currently, though, I would go with something else.
