With amazing art direction and new gameplay mechanics, Epic Yarn dosen't suck (pun intended)

User Rating: 9.5 | Kirby's Epic Yarn WII
Even though the traditional Kirby plataformers are very enjoyable, they were kind of getting repetitive on the DS, so the franchise was in need of a reebot. Well, here it is, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and it really deserves the praise that it gets.

GRAPHICS:
Do I even have to say that this game looks amazing? The visuals are beautiful, with all being made of yarn, and it really looks good, being colorfull and inventive. They almost look like they were knited by someone. OVER 9000!!!!/5

SOUND:
The music in this game is fantastic, with remixes of old tracks sounding great and the newer songs too. The story is told by a guy reading everything, and it is really heart warming the way he reads, resembling a grandfather telling a story to his grandson. 5/5

GAMEPLAY:
The game is a 2D plataformer. You play as Kirby, who due to the spell of the sorcerer Yin-Yarn, has become made of yarn, so does Dream Land, so he must stop him. He is helped in his quest by Prince Fluff, whose land has been in trouble due to the sorcerer too. The story isn't very complex, but, to tell the truth, it really fits in this game, and is compeling enougth to make you want to play it. The gameplay itself is radically diferent from previous games in the series. Instead of sucking the enemies, Kirby now has a whip made of yarn that he can use to attack enemies. He cannot suck the enemies cause whenever he suck anything, it just goes right though its body. It fuzzy logic is enougth and kinda cool. This new gameplay may feel like it's not really Kirby, but it is very, very fun to play. The biggest advantage is how the stages play, in the sense that you manipule the scenario at times, such as pulling strings to shift a plataform or unzip a zipper. This is the perfect blend of gameplay and graphics. Plus, even though he cannot suck his enemies, you can still transform in some parts of the game, and they are awesome. There is also a multiliplayer mode in the game, as a second player can play the entire game as Prince Fluff. It really works and it very fun. Since you are no longer in Dream Land, you rented an apartament, and you can decorate it, which is a nice feature, but one i really didn't care for. The biggest issue with the game is the difficulty. You can't die in this game. I'm dead serious. If you fall, you only lose beads (the curency of the game), and even if you fall with 0 of them, nothing happens, so you will beat the game is you keep playing it. This makes the game ideal for younger players, but it is really easy for more experienced ones. Also, the game will take you about 6 and a half hours, if you care to collect all the stuff and unlock all the hidden levels. It is kinda short, but the replay value is high, if not for the fun you will have while playing the game. 4.5/5
