While being a remake of Kirby's adventure, it's still fun and a blast to play.

The Good:
. Abilities are fun to use, as always
. Nice, colorful level design
. Remixed music is awesome and captures the essence of the Kirby's Adventure
. The new sprites are very cool and cute looking
. You get to play as MetaKnight, which is awesome

The Bad:
. Multiplayer is meh
. It's a little easy, even though that's what the Kirby series is.

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land is a remake of Kirby's Adventure, made in 1993 for the NES, having the innovation of swallowing an enemy and then taking their abilities and using them against them. While doing nothing innovative like most of the Kirby games, it's still fun to play and can last you quite a while.

While the story isn't great or compelling, it's just there to be there, like most Kirby games. What happened was everyone in Dream Land started to have nightmares since the Fountain of Dreams stopped working and Kirby wanted to find out why. Kirby soon finds out the King Dedede has broken the Star Rod into seven pieces, and Kirby must find all seven pieces, and put the Star Rod back into the Fountain of Dreams so everyone while stop having nightmares! It's a cutesy story but really, nobody cares for the story.

Gameplay wise, the game is simple to play and easy to pick up. Kirby can run, slide, fly swallow enemies and use them as ammo and take others abilities and use them to his advantages. There are seven worlds (8 actually, even though the final boss doesn't have a world to explore) to explore each having 4 to 7 sub-worlds and then a boss to defeat after beating all the sub-worlds. There are also three minigames to play. One that is a quick draw event, another that is like hot potato and another that makes you ride a warp star on a rail. Probably the best part of the game is playing as MetaKnight after beating the game on the harder difficulty, having one three hit points. He is extremely powerful, since he has a upward and downward strike and can unlock any-part of the game that you might need an ability for, but he can die very quickly. While there is multiplayer, I never really thought it was necessary or really cared.

The presentation is very cute for this game, while all the backgrounds and most of the characters of the game looking very cute and colorful. All of the sprites of the bosses have been made larger, making them easier to hit but harder to dodge, which isn't a problem. One thing I don't like about the remake is that whenever there was a hyper candy near by, in the original, MetaKnight would come out of no where and give it to you. But sadly, they got rid of that detail in the remake. But I really did like all the colors they used for both the backgrounds and characters.

The sound for the game was actually nicely done. Even though they were somewhat childish, they actually did fit the mood for this game, being all nice and pretty looking. But in sound, the music is where it really shined. All from Butter Building, to the final battle with Nightmare. They even made a song for the Fountain of Dreams, which was actually in Super Smash Bros Melee, but didn't appear in the NES game, but I thought it was a nice touch.

In all seriousness, when I first got this, I couldn't stop playing, it was just so much fun. I always loved the minigames and playing all the time, just trying to get all the secrets in the game. I got really upset when I lost the game, but one of my friends has a copy of the game, which is awesome and made me happy. Overall, it's a enjoyable experience.
