This is the best collection of classics ever re-released. These games are all crazy fun and retro.

The Kings Quest series definitely played a huge role in shaping the game industry from its beginnings to the mid-late 90s. Kings Quest 1 came out in '83 and was the first game in 16bit color. Playing these games is like revisiting a piece of history. The control scheme particularly in the first 4 is a novel but invigorating experience since they mice didn't exist then, you enter text commands DOS style like "Move right", "Pick up stick", "Open door". For younger gamers, we have never experienced the real beginnings to gaming. This opportunity is priceless.
Not only is the Kings Quest collection a cool flashback to the past but its easy to see why the games were bestsellers in their days, they have hours of fun that can be mental and technical challenging at times but maintains its playability despite some moments like at the beginning when you keep walking into the moat and being eaten, where you just want to give up, you really get into the game.
All in all the KQ collection is a enjoyable piece of game industry that very gamer should at least sample.
