One of THE BEST PSP game I have played! Worth importing even if you are not a Gundam fan, cuz I certainly was not!
I got to play this when a japanese friend of mine lent it to me, I was not very fond at first cuz its in japanese 1st of all, and I really dont know anything about gundam. But the action on this game hooked me instantly, the graphics are astonishing because it is ONE OF THE BEST i've seen on psp, very colorful and pleasing to the eye, runs smooth as well with no slow down or whatsoever. GREAT sound effects and pretty cool music I dont even like J-pop ;)
Gameplay is fast and very engaging, there are many mechs to choose from and you don't have to unlock them, they are all there for you to try out in a sort of skirmish mode, story mode you still need to unlock the mechs. Controls are simple and quick to learn, once you are there blasting enemy mechs with your beam rifle or slashing them with your lightsaber, you can't put your psp down. Systems are VERY well balanced, and AI can be pretty tough if you set it high, but with some good maneuver and strategy it's easy to have a weaker mech beat the crap out of a more advanced gundam. And i can imagine playing this with your friends would be great fun, but i havet tried that
I really can't pick out anything bad about this game except that its not released in the US and thus no english :( But because of this game, I just bought the Gundam Seed dvd and really want to finish the anime before continuing on the game, because I want to enjoy the game more by knowing what the hell is going on. Now i'm half way through the show and picking out the mechs make a whole lot more sense haha. If you can find this game online, which shouldn't be too hard, definitely get it, its a great game!!
